Compliance & reporting

Compliance-focused reporting, built into your workflow.

Scholarship tax-credit programs ask a lot of an SGO: eligibility rules, donor paperwork, spending tests and annual reporting. We structure your Salesforce environment so the information those obligations depend on is captured as the work happens, and organized when a deadline arrives.

A reporting support tool, not a filing system. Scholarship Insights helps you organize and produce the information your obligations require. It does not guarantee compliance, decide eligibility for you, file anything with the IRS or replace your attorney, tax advisor or auditor. Your organization remains responsible for its filings and decisions.
What we configure

Turning requirements into organized records.

  • Eligibility checks on every award

Before approval, each award shows any open questions against program rules, such as household income, residency or enrollment, so they are resolved on the record rather than in someone's inbox.

  • Fair, consistent selection

Committee review with identifying details masked, and priority for returning recipients and their siblings applied the same way every time.

  • 90% spending tests

Contributions received compared with scholarships paid, by year, plus a gift-by-gift view of what has been disbursed and what is still due, oldest money first.

  • Donor numbers

A record of each donor's number for each year, ready to appear on acknowledgments and reports.

  • Donor acknowledgments

Each donor's annual acknowledgment is drafted from their designated gifts. Staff review and approve it in Salesforce; it is then emailed to donors who chose email, or printed with a button for those who chose mail. A copy of what was sent is kept.

  • Year-end report

Annual figures assembled from your records (applicants, awards, students, schools, spending and income) alongside a certification checklist, filing dates and a history of changes.

  • IRS contribution report export

A button on your organization's record in Salesforce previews the year's contribution report (each donor's number, name, address and total) and exports it as a file. Donors missing a number or an address are flagged before you file. The IRS has not yet published the report's file format, so the export will be matched to it once it does.
